Attorney Joey Maldonado

A native Laredoan, Joey is a graduate of J.W. Nixon High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in engineering science with a minor in Mathematics from Trinity University, and then his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, where he was president of the Student Bar Association, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award.

Joey began his career at a boutique law firm in the Galleria area of Houston, working on environmental and toxic tort litigation, where he worked with a well-respected attorney in Texas, practicing personal injury, major catastrophe, and construction litigation. Joey returned to Laredo to be closer to family after 10 years practicing law in Houston.

During his career, Joey has extensive trial experience, including acting as lead counsel for multi-million-dollar disputes in defense of personal injury claims. Joey’s ability to represent his clients with a personal, detailed, and sophisticated approach has led to successful jury verdicts on behalf of his clients.

Joey has joined LeMaster & Ahmed, PLLC with decades of litigation experience, where he will head the Laredo Office. Joey will continue to practice in the areas of personal injury, death, major catastrophe, and insurance (policyholders only) litigation.

When he is not litigating, Joey loves to travel with his daughter and enjoys live music. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, is Past-President of the Laredo-Webb County Bar Association, and Past-President of Laredo Gateway Rotary.
